Whale

Deep blue it is down here,
bubbles rise and fall,
sunlight barely comes to attend us—
just a whale floating through that oddity,
that oddness called water,
which defies gravity forever—
forever, for all days to come,
the ocean will circulate and water replenish,
allow sea turtles to go on a journey.
These travels all seem so glorious,
and when an orca breaks through the surface,
air creatures are fascinated—
yet truly, those who are really puzzled
are the ocean beings;
they have been here since day one.
Day by day they wonder with fright and delight,
how could these greedy humans
suck up all their oxygen?
Phytoplankton is long gone from this area,
the coral reefs unable to sustain themselves,
clown fish have no home anymore.
When the ocean falls apart,
all these fish wish for
is to float free like a whale—
they can see it, a titan of the sea,
infused amidst the stars and planets,
taking their home far away—
to a place where humans could never visit,
by the edge of entirety;
marine life once again thrives.
